Our client is a market‑leading supplier of industrial packaging machinery with over 85 years of success in the UK market. With more than 5,000 machines installed nationwide and partnerships with leading European and Japanese manufacturers, they continue to grow and invest in their engineering team. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to support customers across the UK.
The Role
This is a varied, hands‑on position involving the installation, commissioning and optimisation of industrial machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of industrial packaging machinery
- Troubleshooting and technical support during and after installation
- Conducting machine performance trials
- Training customer operators and maintenance teams
- Supporting Field Service Engineers with technical issues
- Working alongside suppliers and specialist engineers during major projects
- Acting as Installation Lead on larger projects when required
About You
We are looking for an engineer with a strong electro‑mechanical background and experience working on industrial machinery.
Qualifications
You should have:
- A good balance of electrical and mechanical engineering skills
- Experience installing, commissioning or maintaining industrial machinery
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers
- A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to travel throughout the UK
- Engineering qualifications such as C&G, ONC, HNC or equivalent
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience of packaging machinery or end‑of‑line automation
- Exposure to PLC‑controlled equipment
- Basic PLC fault‑finding knowledge
Please note: PLC programming experience is not essential, as the business works closely with a dedicated PLC specialist.
