The Opportunity

We're working with a highly respected packaging manufacturer who are urgently looking to appoint a Technical Designer to support a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This is a business-critical hire; they need someone who can hit the ground running and bridge the gap between Design, Repro and Production.

The Role

You'll be responsible for ensuring all technical design and repro-related production tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and on time, while supporting the Structural Design team to deliver best-in-class packaging solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating technical design profiles for production (Braille, emboss, foil, varnish)
  • Acting as the link between Design and Repro teams
  • Carrying out pre-flight checks on die tooling requests
  • Liaising with tooling suppliers and internal production teams
  • Optimising layouts for efficient production across multiple sites
  • Ensuring all artwork meets technical and production standards
  • Supporting VAVE projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with Structural Design and Sampling teams
  • Keeping up to date with packaging machinery and production trends

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in packaging technical design / repro / artwork
  • Advanced knowledge of Esko ArtiosCAD (essential)
  • Understanding of cartonboard packaging production processes
  • Experience working with tooling, repro and print production teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
