An established and highly successful international manufacturing organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing Excellence team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and process optimisation to take ownership of improvement projects across a complex manufacturing operation.
The role will focus on improving product yield, manufacturing efficiency, machine performance, quality and cost, using data and structured Continuous Improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and deliver measurable results.
The Role
- Lead and deliver Continuous Improvement initiatives across manufacturing
- Drive improvements in yield, efficiency, quality and cost
- Analyse manufacturing and production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Use DOE and machine optimisation techniques to improve process and equipment performance
- Develop and implement manufacturing best practice
- Identify, evaluate and justify investment in new manufacturing equipment
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Technical and Quality teams
- Support the introduction of new processes and equipment
- Train and support production teams following process improvements
- Coach, mentor and supervise a small Manufacturing Engineering team
About You
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing, Process or Continuous Improvement Engineer who can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering improvements within a manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will have:
- A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience within manufacturing/process engineering
- Demonstrable experience of improving manufacturing yield and efficiency
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience of Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Machine/process optimisation experience
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- The ability to lead projects and influence across different departments
- Experience coaching or mentoring other engineers would be advantageous
