Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:30

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established UK manufacturer specialising in window and door systems, supplying into the construction and building products sector. They are now looking to appoint a QHSE Manager to take full ownership of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental systems across their Essex site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role with real autonomy, where you can shape processes, influence culture and make a visible impact across the business.

The Role

As QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining all QHSE systems within a busy manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation
  • Leading risk assessments, audits and investigations
  • Managing environmental systems (ISO 14001)
  • Supporting energy management initiatives (ISO 50001)
  • Driving a proactive safety and quality culture across production
  • Investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
  • Delivering training and supporting site teams on QHSE matters

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Proven experience in a QHSE / HSE / Quality role within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience managing or supporting ISO systems (9001 essential, 14001/50001 desirable)
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with the confidence to influence at all levels
  • Experience working in environments such as fabrication, building products, plastics, or similar manufacturing settings would be advantageous

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) essential
  • Environmental qualification (IEMA) desirable
  • IOSH membership advantageous
