Advanced Manufacturing | Sustainable Materials | New Facility

£40k - £50k depending on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business at a pivotal stage of growth. This role sits within a new and expanding polyurethane moulding operation, supporting both R&D and volume production across multiple sectors including aviation, automotive, mass-transit and specialist consumer products.

You’ll play a hands-on role in running moulding machinery and trimming operations, while also shaping and validating robust polyurethane processes from the ground up.

The Role

  • Develop, maintain and validate repeatable polyurethane moulding processes
  • Set up, optimise and troubleshoot moulding equipment and process parameters
  • Investigate and resolve production defects such as voids, porosity, flash and density variation
  • Support new product introductions, including mould commissioning and material trials
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality, safety and regulatory standards
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, R&D and commercial teams
  • Assist with training and development of production operatives as the facility scales

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering or similar (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Background in polyurethane, polymers or a comparable manufacturing environment
  • Experience with chemical formulation and machinery/process management
  • Strong knowledge of RCA, CAPA and DOE methodologies
  • Basic understanding of CAD / CAE
  • Methodical, organised and comfortable managing projects and deadlines
  • Confident communicator who enjoys cross-functional collaboration
  • Detail-focused with a natural problem-solving mindset
