Responsibilities

  • React quickly and safely to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep the plant running smoothly
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults (typically 60/40 split)
  • Work across a wide range of production kit – extruders, shredders, washers, conveyors, wastewater systems and more
  • Take full ownership of your jobs from start to finish, including clear reporting and handovers
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and contribute to a strong, safety-first culture

Qualifications

  • A recognised engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical bias)
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Confident in electrical and mechanical fault-finding
  • Good understanding of PPM and reliability practices
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and basic PLC diagrams
  • A proactive, solutions-driven approach and a strong team ethic
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Experience with inverters, FLT licence, or plastics/extrusion machinery
  • Exposure to highly automated / 24/7 manufacturing environments
