The Opportunity

We’re working with a highly respected packaging manufacturer who are urgently looking to appoint a Technical Designer to support a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This is a business-critical hire, they need someone who can hit the ground running and bridge the gap between Design, Repro and Production.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all technical design and repro-related production tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and on time, while supporting the Structural Design team to deliver best-in-class packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating technical design profiles for production (Braille, emboss, foil, varnish)
  • Acting as the link between Design and Repro teams
  • Carrying out pre-flight checks on die tooling requests
  • Liaising with tooling suppliers and internal production teams
  • Optimising layouts for efficient production across multiple sites
  • Ensuring all artwork meets technical and production standards
  • Supporting VAVE projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with Structural Design and Sampling teams
  • Keeping up to date with packaging machinery and production trends

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in packaging technical design / repro / artwork
  • Advanced knowledge of Esko ArtiosCAD (essential)
  • Understanding of cartonboard packaging production processes
  • Experience working with tooling, repro and print production teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
