A well-established UK manufacturer supplying products into the healthcare sector is looking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about Lean Manufacturing and process improvement to play a key role in driving efficiency, reducing waste and improving operational performance.
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will work closely with operational teams to identify improvement opportunities, lead improvement projects and embed Lean methodologies across the business. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites
- Implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve operational performance
- Driving waste reduction and process optimisation projects
- Leading Kaizen events and improvement workshops
- Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including SOPs and work instructions
- Supporting new product and process introductions through trials and validation
- Monitoring operational KPIs and delivering performance improvements
- Coaching and mentoring teams in CI tools and problem-solving techniques
- Supporting layout improvements and workflow optimisation across production areas
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as:
- Lean Six Sigma
- 5S
- Kaizen
- Value Stream Mapping
- Root Cause Analysis
- Standard Work
The following would be advantageous:
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or equivalent)
- Experience delivering CI projects within manufacturing operations
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills
