Shifts: Early (6am – 2pm), Days (8.30am – 4.30pm), Afternoons (2pm – 10pm)
We are working with a well-established UK manufacturer supplying products into the healthcare sector. The business is investing in its manufacturing capability and is now looking to strengthen its engineering team with the appointment of a Toolroom Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with experience in plastic injection mould tooling to join a stable and growing manufacturing environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving production tooling to ensure reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planned preventative maintenance of injection mould tooling
- Repair and modification of existing tooling
- Manufacture of jigs, fixtures and tooling components
- Responding to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Carrying out safety checks and inspections
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the toolroom
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams
Candidate Requirements
We are keen to speak with engineers who have:
- Time served engineering apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Strong experience with plastic injection mould tooling
- Experience with milling, turning and grinding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A proactive and problem-solving approach
Experience with CNC machining, EDM, CAD or CMM would be advantageous.
