Artemis Human Capital are recruiting for a Procurement Officer on behalf of a large organisation within the Public Services sector. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality procurement services across a large, complex organisation. This position is central to supporting the organisation's ambition to deliver best-in-class public services through effective, compliant, and value-driven procurement.
Duties
- Driving efficient and effective procurement activity in line with relevant legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Supporting the Category Manager / Procurement Lead and internal stakeholders to deliver programmes and projects aligned with agreed procurement pipelines.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to design robust procurement and commercial strategies, using category expertise and market intelligence to achieve value for money.
- Advising colleagues and clients on risks within allocated categories and markets, and contributing to the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Preparing and reviewing procurement documentation to ensure professional, high-quality, and compliant processes are published to the marketplace.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted procurement advisor to support project and programme delivery.
- Supporting Contract Managers in monitoring supplier performance against contractual agreements and service level requirements.
- Embedding sustainability and equality objectives into procurement activity and decision-making.
- Undertaking any other duties required to support the success of the team.
Experience
- A minimum of two years experience working within a procurement function or department in a large organisation.
- A proven track record of delivering procurement benefits, including savings, efficiencies, sustainability outcomes, and cost avoidance.
- Practical experience managing tender exercises from initial requirement through to contract award, including the use of online tendering portals.
- Knowledge and experience of drafting and applying contractual and commercial terms and conditions.
