We are seeking a Data Centre Lead Commissioning Engineer to take a central role in the delivery of world-class mission-critical infrastructure. In this position, you will lead commissioning activities for advanced HVAC, electrical, and control systems within cutting-edge data centres across the London area, ensuring every system operates to the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and reliability. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with leadership, contributing to projects that power the digital world and support the backbone of global technology.
Candidate Profile:
- Technical Expertise: HVAC practical experience or a degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus relevant mechanical/electrical certifications. F-Gas qualification is a strong plus.
- Industry Experience: 3+ years commissioning HVAC/electrical systems in construction or critical infrastructure. Data centre experience and familiarity with ASHRAE L1–L5 commissioning stages are highly desirable.
- Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation. Strong grasp of airflow principles, technical drawings, and commissioning documentation.
- Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of electrical safety standards including LOTO procedures. CSCS card required; SSSTS/SMSTS and other certifications are a bonus.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Office365 and document control platforms. Experience with MODBUS and BMS systems is advantageous.
- Mobility & Adaptability: Willingness to travel across EMEA, work at height/in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks. A full driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading commissioning activities across data centre sites, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Overseeing equipment delivery, installation, and handover in line with project specifications.
- Executing commissioning scripts and validating HVAC and electrical system performance.
- Collaborating with our internal project teams, contractors, and clients to maintain safety, quality, and technical standards.
- Managing documentation, including RAMS, HSE reports, test logs, and commissioning schedules.
- Identifying and communicating risks related to resources, timelines, and budgets.
- Supervising deep cleaning operations and ensuring client satisfaction.
