The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paraplanner to join an established wealth management practice in Farnham, Surrey.

This role would suit either a Junior Paraplanner looking to develop their career or an experienced Level 4 Diploma-qualified Paraplanner looking for their next opportunity.

You will work closely with Financial Advisers and the wider support team, providing technical and administrative support throughout the financial planning process.

The role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of financial planning work, with the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and take on increasing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide paraplanning support to Financial Advisers.
  • Prepare suitability reports, recommendations and client documentation.
  • Conduct research into investments, pensions and financial products.
  • Complete technical research and analysis to support client recommendations.
  • Assist with client reviews and preparation for Adviser meetings.
  • Analyse client information and financial circumstances.
  • Assist with pension, investment and retirement planning cases.
  • Complete cash-flow modelling and financial planning analysis where required.
  • Prepare meeting packs and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with product providers, platforms and third parties.
  • Maintain accurate client and case records.
  • Ensure reports and documentation are accurate, clear and compliant.
  • Work closely with Advisers and Client Services to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Keep up to date with changes in pensions, investments, taxation and financial services legislation.
  • Manage workloads effectively and meet agreed deadlines.

About You

We are open to candidates at different stages of their paraplanning career.

You may be a Junior Paraplanner with relevant financial services experience, or an experienced Paraplanner who is already Level 4 Diploma qualified.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Financial Planning or Wealth Management.
  • Paraplanning or technical support experience, although junior candidates will be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Good technical and analytical ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to research and interpret financial information.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • The ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within financial planning.
  • A professional and client-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning – desirable but not essential for Junior Paraplanners.
  • Candidates currently studying towards the Diploma are encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant CII qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
