The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Adviser to join an established wealth management practice in Farnham, Surrey.
This is a particularly exciting opportunity for an Adviser looking to take on an established client bank from a retiring Adviser, providing the successful candidate with an immediate portfolio of long-standing clients and the opportunity to build strong, trusted relationships for the future.
You will take responsibility for managing and developing an existing client portfolio, providing high-quality financial advice and ensuring clients receive a consistently excellent service throughout their financial journey.
The role would suit an experienced Adviser who enjoys building long-term relationships and is looking for the opportunity to inherit an established book rather than having to build a client base from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for an established portfolio of clients inherited from a retiring Adviser.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients.
- Conduct regular client review meetings and provide appropriate financial advice based on individual circumstances and objectives.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client's financial position, goals and future plans.
- Provide holistic financial planning and wealth management advice.
- Review existing arrangements and identify opportunities to ensure clients' financial plans continue to meet their changing needs.
- Prepare and present clear, suitable and compliant financial recommendations.
- Work closely with Paraplanners and Client Services colleagues to ensure an efficient and high-quality advice process.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure all advice is fully documented and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, taxation, pensions, investments and wider financial markets.
- Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate additional business where appropriate.
- Build relationships with professional connections and introducers where relevant.
- Ensure a consistently high level of client service throughout the advice process.
- Contribute positively to the wider team and support the continued growth of the practice.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Financial Adviser / Financial Planner with a strong track record of managing client relationships and providing high-quality financial advice.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience working as a Financial Adviser or Financial Planner.
- Experience managing an established client bank.
- Strong knowledge of holistic financial planning and wealth management.
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
- Experience conducting client reviews and presenting financial recommendations.
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, retirement planning and protection.
- The ability to understand complex financial circumstances and explain recommendations clearly.
- A professional, personable and trustworthy approach.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- A genuine focus on delivering excellent client outcomes.
- The confidence and ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities within an existing client bank.
Qualifications
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent is essential.
- Relevant CII qualifications would be advantageous.
- Current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
- Demonstrable experience operating within a regulated financial advice environment.
