German-speaking M&A Senior Associate/Vice President, Artemis Origination
(UK/ Germany-based, hybrid or remote, depending on location: competitive base + bonus + healthcare / life insurance / benefits package – MUST BE FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND GERMAN. )
Seeking a Sr. Associate/ VP with 3+ years of experience in M&A or consulting; excellent presentation and communication skills are necessary with ability to win and lead client engagements across research, outreach and overall buyside M&A processes. Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset is essential to succeed in the role. The candidate should also be proficient in German (besides English).

Based in the UK , US and Europe , our team helps tier 1 strategic acquirers and private equity identify, engage and acquire firms that advance their inorganic growth and buy-and-build strategies. Spun out of a global investment bank in 2022 we have completed >160 origination projects for many of the most prolific and prestigious acquirers over the last 7 years. Consequently:

As part of our ambitious global growth strategy, we are looking for a multilingual Senior Associate / Vice President (depending on experience) to join our team. Can be resident in UK or Germany. Besides fluent/native English, preference would be for fluent/native German. The candidate must have a solid understanding of the M&A process, and the confidence and gravitas to be able to win and deliver buyside mandates for PE, portcos and strategics. S/he will lead interactions with our clients (buyers and investors) and target company owners.
This means s/he should have reached Associate level at an M&A advisory business, or the equivalent at a management consulting firm where they specialised in M&A transactions.
Areas of specialisation include:
1) Business Development
a. Create a robust pipeline of high value buyside M&A origination projects from new and existing Artemis clients
b. Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with prior and potential clients
c. Conduct marketing, pitches and (as necessary) contract negotiation
2) Scan
a. Liaise with clients to refine target specifications and set timeframes and deliverables
b. Manage client and Artemis research team to ensure deliverables are aligned with – and regularly surpass – client expectations
c. Ensure search data is optimally gathered, logged, curated and presented
3) Engage
a. Outreach to potential targets – by email then video conference – to qualify suitability for acquisition and progress to direct discussions with our clients (as appropriate)
b. Develop and present our client’s ‘buyside story’ to targets to maximize their engagement
c. Facilitate meetings, feedback and negotiations between parties up to agreement of LOI
d. Where targets are unsuitable for a client ensure a positive ongoing relationship with Artemis
4) Execution
a. Support client / Artemis senior team with financial modelling, due diligence & negotiations (on selected contracts only and according to the employee’s specific experience/capabilities)
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be passionate about pursuing exponential growth in revenue. S/he will be willing and interested in working directly, on the one hand, with senior executives and corporate development managers at strategic acquirers and PE and portcos implementing ‘buy-and-build’; and, on the other, with entrepreneurs and owner-managers of businesses targeted for acquisition. S/he will have a talent for initiating and building lasting professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Essential
– 3+ years’ deal experience in M&A (investment banking or M&A consulting) from a boutique and/or bulge bracket firm
– Ability to build and refine a 3-statement model
– Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills
– Proven business development capability, entrepreneurialism and intellectual agility
– Client management and relationship-building skills; emotional intelligence; credibility as a trusted advisor; honest & straightforward in approach
– Collaborative; a team player; track record of strong project management; evident sense of urgency and bias for action
– Commitment to the firm’s success with flexible approach to working hours
