The Client

A major international law firm with a large and well established London office, with market leading practices in areas such as Corporate, Disputes and Banking & Finance in addition to niche specialist practices. The firm is at the forefront of utilising emerging technology on behalf of their clients and this role would sit within their broader GC & Risk department, reporting to their Deputy General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the firm is up to date with developing laws, policies and regulations relating to emerging technologies and data;
  • Building out the firm's policies and training programmes to reflect the above changes;
  • Working with others in the team to advise on the laws and professional obligations surrounding the collection, use, maintenance, location and retention of data;

Experience & Requirements

  • A qualified lawyer with experience or a keen interest in new and emerging technologies such as Gen AI and a good understanding of data privacy laws;
  • An awareness of regulatory compliance and the obligations that are prescribed to lawyers;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – the successful candidate will liaise with lawyers and business services groups across all levels of seniority;
  • This role has a global remit – the successful applicant must be adaptable and capable of working across different time-zones with a range of international stakeholders;
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE.
