Artemis Human Capital is working in partnership with a large, complex organisation with a significant focus on governance, performance, and service delivery, to appoint a Senior Financial Governance Manager. Reporting to the CFO, this is a key leadership role with responsibility for strengthening financial governance, enhancing internal controls, and driving robust risk management across the organisation. You will operate at a senior level, providing expert advice, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the highest standards of compliance and transparency are maintained. The role offers broad exposure across governance, audit, and pensions, as well as the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to organisational performance at an executive level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert financial governance advice, assurance, and insight to senior leadership
- Strengthen and continuously improve internal control frameworks and risk management processes
- Lead fraud prevention, anti-bribery compliance, and oversight of fraud reporting and investigations
- Act as Secretary to the Audit & Risk Committee, managing agendas, papers, and governance reporting
- Act as the key liaison with internal audit and oversee audit recommendations and delivery
- Oversee pensions governance, administration, and regulatory compliance, liaising with external advisors
- Provide financial insight and performance analysis to support executive decision-making
- Lead and develop a financial governance team and manage key stakeholder relationships
Criteria:
- Fully qualified accountant
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in financial governance, risk, or compliance
- Strong experience in internal controls, risk management, and fraud prevention
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively at senior level
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organisational ability
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams
- Experience in a regulated or public sector environment and knowledge of pensions governance would be advantageous.
