A well-established Belfast law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its expanding team. This role offers the chance to work on a broad range of employment law matters for both employer and employee clients, providing high-quality, commercially-focused legal advice and advocacy.

About the Role

  • Lead on advisory and contentious employment law matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, tribunal representation, and equality claims.
  • Provide strategic, practical guidance to clients on contracts, policies, TUPE, redundancy, and compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, employment contracts, policies and procedural documentation.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and support staff, helping to develop a collaborative, high-performing team.

Criteria:

  • Qualified solicitor with 5+ years post-qualification experience in employment law.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland employment legislation and case law.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness, proactive approach and ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
