Artemis Human Capital are exclusively recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager on behalf of a leading FMCG firm in South Down. As Senior Commercial Manager, you will support the delivery of the company's commercial strategy across retail and foodservice channels, all product sectors, and markets across Ireland and the UK. The role is responsible for managing key customer relationships, delivering sustainable sales and margin growth, and identifying new business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver budgeted sales turnover, volume and gross margin targets across allocated trade channels and customer accounts.
  • Support the development and execution of the commercial growth strategy and three-year business plan.
  • Manage and develop strategic customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and long-term partnership value.
  • Lead contract negotiations, annual pricing reviews and commercial agreements.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities through market analysis, customer insight and industry networking.
  • Monitor commercial performance against key metrics, providing regular reporting, insight and recommendations to senior management.
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, NPD and Finance to support successful product launches and consistent customer service delivery.
  • Manage customer accruals, promotional spend and commercial investments in line with approved budgets.
  • Ensure customer agreements and trading terms are current, accurate and appropriately documented.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning processes.
  • Mentor, coach and develop Key Account Managers and other commercial team members where applicable.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance profitability, efficiency and ways of working.

Experience and Background Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing P&L.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP would be advantageous.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Degree qualified in Business, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline; MBA desirable but not essential.
