We are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing construction business to recruit a Part-Qualified Accountant for their expanding finance team based in Fintona. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, ambitious business during a significant period of growth. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while also gaining exposure to month-end and management accounts. The successful candidate will enjoy genuine long-term career progression. This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking to develop their career within a modern, fast-paced business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day purchase ledger, including invoice processing, supplier payments and account reconciliations
- Support monthly payroll processing
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Complete monthly bank, payroll, tax and intercompany reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure strong financial controls across the business
- Assist with continuous improvements to finance processes as the business continues to grow
Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations and month-end processes
- Experience assisting with management accounts or looking to develop in this area
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident using accounting software such as Xero, alongside strong Excel skills
- Experience within construction environments would be advantageous
- A proactive team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced and growing business
- AAT/IATI qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience candidates are all encouraged to apply
