We are currently working with a progressive and highly regarded Northern Ireland law firm that is seeking to appoint a Family & Matrimonial Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join its expanding specialist family law team based in County Down. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to join a well-established practice with a strong reputation for high-quality private family law work across Northern Ireland, including complex matrimonial finance and children matters.
The Role
The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of privately funded family and matrimonial matters, including:
- Separation and divorce
- Financial settlements and ancillary relief
- Children Order proceedings and custody disputes
- Domestic violence matters
- Civil partnership disputes
- Cohabitation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Complex financial cases involving pensions, trusts, businesses, farms and inherited assets
- Collaborative settlements and negotiated resolutions
- Cases with cross-jurisdictional or international elements
The role offers exposure to high-quality and often complex work, with the opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists in this area.
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland with 3+ years’ PQE
- Strong experience in family and matrimonial law
- Ability to manage files independently from instruction to conclusion
- Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
- Strong advocacy and negotiation abilities
- Experience dealing with privately funded matters
- A sensitive, practical and commercially minded approach
