Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be partnering exclusively with this established well-known NI based business to recruit an experienced Payroll Specialist for an immediate start on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The position has been created to support continued business growth. Reporting to Group FD, this role represents an excellent opportunity to join a warm, friendly, and highly experienced finance team, where you will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive payroll service across the organisation.

The Role: As Payroll Specialist, you will take full ownership of payroll processing, managing both weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across all payroll activities, supporting the wider business while working as part of a small, collaborative payroll team. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to an upcoming system implementation, gaining valuable project exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Managing all associated calculations including tax, NI, pensions, and statutory deductions
  • Ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation and internal policies
  • Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Supporting payroll reporting and reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll system implementation and related project work

The Person:

  • Current proven experience processing payroll end-to-end (weekly and monthly)
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and software
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • CIPP qualification advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Previous exposure to payroll projects or system implementations is advantageous
