The Role: Working as part of an established finance function, you'll play a key role in supporting the effective management of customer accounts and maintaining healthy cashflow across the business. This is a varied position combining proactive credit control, customer relationship management and wider accounts receivable administration. Success in the role comes from building positive relationships, resolving queries efficiently and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure outstanding balances are collected professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Control & Accounts Receivable
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms
- Contact customers by telephone and email regarding outstanding balances
- Agree payment arrangements and monitor adherence to agreed plans
- Escalate high-risk accounts where appropriate
- Support the recovery of overdue debt while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve account queries quickly
- Liaise with customers to investigate and resolve billing issues
- Build strong working relationships across the wider business
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times
- Finance Administration
- Complete customer credit checks and support new account setup
- Assist with deposits, refunds and account adjustments
- Support small claims administration where required
- Maintain accurate customer records and finance documentation
- Assist with additional finance administration as required
About You: This opportunity will suit someone with previous Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or customer accounts experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Essential Experience:
- Previous experience within Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or a customer finance role
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within a high-volume finance environment
- Previous exposure to customer billing or collections
- Experience supporting debt recovery or payment plans
