We are working with a well-established and highly respected organisation based in Derry/L'Derry. As part of continued development within their finance function, they are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the wider finance function through the preparation of accurate financial information, month-end processes, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad, hands-on accounting role within a stable, values-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and management accounts support
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Assist with audit preparation and liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Provide day-to-day financial support across sales, purchases, and treasury functions
  • Support payroll processing as required
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, and statutory requirements

Who We're Looking For:

  • Fully qualified Accounts Technician (IATI or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in either practice or industry
  • Strong double-entry bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience

Desirable:

  • Payroll experience
  • First-time passes in professional examinations
