We are working with a well-established and highly respected organisation based in Derry/L'Derry. As part of continued development within their finance function, they are now seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the wider finance function through the preparation of accurate financial information, month-end processes, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad, hands-on accounting role within a stable, values-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and management accounts support
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Assist with audit preparation and liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Provide day-to-day financial support across sales, purchases, and treasury functions
  • Support payroll processing as required
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, and statutory requirements

Who We're Looking For:

  • Fully qualified Accounts Technician (IATI or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in either practice or industry
  • Strong double-entry bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience
  • Desirable: Payroll experience
  • First-time passes in professional examinations
