Artemis Human Capital is working exclusively with a growing technology business in Belfast to appoint a Management Accountant.
This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the CFO and offering significant exposure to senior leadership across two growing businesses.
The successful candidate will take genuine ownership of management accounts, reporting, forecasting, margin analysis and commercial insight, while helping shape the development of the wider finance function.
With the business continuing to scale, the role offers excellent career development and a clear pathway to Financial Controller for an ambitious finance professional.
The Role This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to develop beyond traditional accounting and become a commercially focused finance professional.
Key responsibilities will include: Preparing monthly management accounts across two companies.
Managing month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
Producing monthly reporting packs and KPI analysis.
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting.
Analysing sales, gross margins, costs, stock and profitability.
Investigating variances and identifying margin leakage, risks and performance trends.
Preparing UK and Irish VAT returns, working with external advisers where required.
Managing intercompany accounting.
Business partnering with commercial and operational teams to support decision-making.
Working closely with accounts payable and procurement to maintain strong financial controls.
Improving finance processes, reporting and controls through better use of Excel, systems, automation and AI-assisted tools.
The Person The role would suit a qualified or recently qualified accountant who is keen to broaden their experience and take on increasing responsibility.
Ideally, candidates will have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
Experience across management accounts and month-end processes.
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Good numerical and analytical ability.
Excellent attention to detail.
The confidence to communicate with senior management and non-finance colleagues.
A commercial mindset and genuine interest in understanding what the numbers mean.
An interest in using technology, automation and AI to make finance more efficient.
