We are partnering with an award-winning and rapidly growing environmental engineering company who are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their expanding payroll team in Ballykelly. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to take ownership of weekly and monthly UK payrolls while playing a key role in improving payroll processes, systems and controls as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing end-to-end weekly and monthly UK payrolls
- Processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime, shifts and deductions
- Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and payroll data
- Ensuring compliance with UK legislation and HMRC requirements
- Processing PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory deductions
- Completing payroll reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and submitting FPS and EPS reports to HMRC
- Managing year-end payroll processes, including P60s
- Supporting workplace pension auto-enrolment
- Maintaining payroll and time & attendance systems
- Working with HR, Finance and management to resolve payroll queries
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and automation
Who we're looking for:
- Minimum 5 years experience in high-volume UK payroll
- Experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls
- Strong experience managing hourly paid employees, overtime and variable pay
- Good knowledge of PAYE, NI, statutory payments and payroll deductions
- Experience with payroll and time & attendance systems
- Sage Payroll/Sage Micropay experience advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information
- Payroll qualification and manufacturing/production experience advantageous
