Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be partnering with an award-winning, long-established, multi-site leader in the construction industry in the recruitment of a HR Officer on an initial maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to get exposure across the fast-paced construction industry across the full employee lifecycle alongside participating in company-wide HR projects whilst receiving tailored mentorship and support from their highly-experienced HR team.

What will you do as HR Officer?

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Support recruitment activities across the employee lifecycle including defining role requirements, coordinating advertising strategies, managing relationships with recruitment agencies, and facilitating communication between hiring managers and candidates. Assist with interview processes, candidate assessments and recruitment administration to ensure an efficient and positive candidate experience.
  • HR Projects: Participate in the rolling out and creation of HR Projects to promote efficiency, productivity and wellbeing across the business.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes ensuring a seamless employee experience from induction through to exit. Manage new starter documentation, employment contracts, and pre-employment compliance checks including right-to-work verification and identity validation.
  • Learning, Development & Training Compliance: Oversee training compliance activities, including monitoring completion rates, identifying skills and compliance gaps. Design, facilitate, and deliver internal learning and development initiatives aligned with organisational objectives and employee growth requirements. Maintain accurate training records and provide regular reporting on compliance and development metrics.
  • HR Operations & Employee Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. Support HR operational processes by managing employee updates, documentation and system administration activities.
  • Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Prepare and analyse HR data and key performance metrics to support management reporting and inform decision-making at monthly and quarterly leadership meetings. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, providing workforce insights, and supporting the development of HR best practices.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Governance: Prepare and communicate departmental updates, reports, and presentations for internal meetings, including leadership, operational, and compliance forums. Build effective working relationships with employees, managers, external partners, and recruitment providers to support business objectives.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and the Integrated Management System (IMS), promoting compliance and best practice across all HR activities. Support the implementation and continuous review of HR policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

What will you require as HR Officer?

  • 2-3 years of Human Resources Experience
  • Skilled in end to end recruitment, absence/performance management activities and engaging in HR Projects
  • Experienced in employee relations, coordinating and delivering training activities and conducting HR reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications including Excel
  • Preferable to have HR Degree or CIPD Qualification
