Artemis Human Capital are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading organisation to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to join their senior finance team. This is a key appointment within a complex and fast-paced business, offering broad exposure across financial operations, reporting, controls and business partnering. Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the finance function delivers accurate and timely information while supporting strategic growth initiatives. This opportunity is ideally suited to a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating within a dynamic environment and has experience managing multi-entity operations.

The Role:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring effective management of core accounting and cash management activities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Manage reporting across multiple entities and support the consolidation of group results.
  • Support cash flow management and working capital optimisation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, audit and taxation requirements across a diverse operating structure.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial control environment, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and advisors, ensuring timely completion of year-end processes.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and commentary to support senior management decision-making.
  • Prepare management reporting packs and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to drive profitability and operational performance.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Promote strong collaboration with key internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective processes.

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership position.
  • Strong experience managing multi-entity operations within a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit processes.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational priorities with strategic objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Advanced systems capability with experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
  • Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
