Our client is a well-established, multi-site organisation operating across the UK and Ireland, delivering services to both public and private sector customers. Due to continued growth and an increasing focus on governance and regulatory compliance, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Officer to join their team.

Reporting to senior management, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organisation's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and internal policies. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across multiple departments and locations, helping to identify compliance risks, implement controls and promote a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements across the business.
  • Review and maintain policies, procedures and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring activities, audits and site reviews.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
  • Assist with data protection and GDPR compliance activities.
  • Investigate compliance concerns, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the maintenance of risk registers and compliance reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives to employees.
  • Monitor compliance obligations relating to contractual and public sector requirements.
  • Produce regular compliance reports for senior leadership.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience within a compliance, risk, governance or regulatory role.
  • A strong understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of AML, KYC, data protection and corporate governance principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent report-writing and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Degree-level qualification in Law, Business, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance or a related field.
  • Professional compliance qualification (ICA, IRM, CGI, CCEP, or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
  • Exposure to public sector, regulated, operational or asset-based environments.
