A professional services firm is seeking a Compliance Assistant to support its Risk and Compliance function. The role focuses on AML, financial crime prevention, client onboarding, file management, and quality assurance. You will help ensure client matters are processed in line with regulatory and internal requirements while supporting fee earners and maintaining high compliance standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Process client onboarding and matter openings, ensuring completion of KYC/CDD requirements.
- Assist with AML checks including sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening.
- Support ongoing client due diligence and risk assessments.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks or missing information.
- Support remediation activity, audits, and file reviews.
- Assist with file lifecycle management including opening, closing, archiving and records control.
- Respond to routine AML and onboarding queries from internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and support reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements and system updates.
Essential requirements:
- Degree in Law, Business, or related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage workload proactively and independently.
Desirable experience:
- Exposure to AML, onboarding, financial crime, or regulatory processes.
