An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor with 3 PQE to join a modern and growing legal practice with a strong presence across the North Coast. This is an opportunity for an established private client solicitor to join a forward-thinking practice where you will have the opportunity to handle a high-quality caseload, develop strong client relationships and take genuine ownership of your work.
The role will suit a solicitor with experience across wills, estate planning, probate and estate administration, who enjoys providing tailored advice to individuals, families and business owners.
The Role
- Advising clients across a broad range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting wills and providing bespoke estate planning advice.
- Advising on inheritance tax and tax-efficient estate planning.
- Asset and business protection.
- Lifetime gifting and succession planning.
- Advising business owners and families on succession.
- Preparing and registering Enduring Powers of Attorney.
- Controllership applications and Office of Care and Protection matters.
- Statutory wills.
- Planning for long-term care and nursing-care means assessments.
- Probate and administration of estates.
- Managing complex and high-value estates.
- Dealing with estates involving property, business interests and international assets.
- Liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professional advisers where appropriate.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on matters ranging from straightforward personal estate planning through to complex and high-value estates, with the support of a wider network of specialist professionals where required.
About You
My client is looking for a qualified Private Client Solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE and strong experience across wills, probate and estate planning. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience managing your own private client caseload.
- Experience drafting wills and advising on estate planning.
- Solid probate and estate administration experience.
- Experience advising on inheritance tax and asset protection.
- Experience with Enduring Powers of Attorney and/or controllership matters.
- Excellent drafting and technical legal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- The ability to explain complex legal and financial issues clearly.
- A practical, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach.
- The confidence to build long-term relationships with clients and professional referrers.
- Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals, complex estates, business owners, trusts or international assets would be advantageous.
