We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation to recruit a Tax Associate for their in-house finance team based outside of Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in tax within a supportive and collaborative environment. Working alongside an experienced tax team, the successful candidate will gain broad exposure across VAT, corporation tax, and employment taxes, supporting compliance and advisory activities across UK and ROI operations. This role offers excellent training, professional development, and the opportunity to build strong technical and commercial tax knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering and preparing information for VAT returns
  • Support the preparation and review of VAT return workings
  • Assist with corporation tax compliance, including data gathering and organisation
  • Support employment tax processes and related submissions
  • Review subcontractor tax documentation and compliance questionnaires
  • Assist with quarterly tax payment tracking and reporting
  • Provide support during external audits and statutory reporting processes
  • Respond to tax-related queries from across the wider business
  • Work closely with the wider tax team on day-to-day compliance and advisory matters

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a finance or tax-related role
  • Exposure to VAT or broader tax compliance work
  • Interest in pursuing a professional tax qualification (e.g. ATT)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or relevant practical experience
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and develop a career in tax
