Artemis Human Capital are working in partnership with a successful and growing accountancy practice in South Belfast to appoint a Payroll Assistant Manager to their established payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to step into a more senior position with leadership responsibilities while continuing to work closely with an impressive and varied client base.

The successful candidate will oversee payroll delivery for a portfolio of clients while supporting and mentoring junior team members within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the delivery of client payroll services
  • Reviewing payroll processing completed by junior staff
  • Acting as a key point of contact for client queries
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Supporting and mentoring junior payroll staff
  • Assisting with process improvement initiatives within the team

Criteria:

  • Previous payroll experience within accountancy practice or bureau
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff advantageous
  • Strong technical payroll knowledge
  • Excellent client management skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
