This role is responsible for managing all government contracts across the business, ensuring agreements are commercially beneficial, compliant, and effectively delivered. The successful candidate will develop a thorough understanding of awarded contracts, provide clear operational guidance, and support the business in meeting its contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management and Compliance: Draft standard contracts for use with internal and external partners, review contractual obligations, and oversee contract execution to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with independent contractors, suppliers, vendors, customers, and other external stakeholders.
- Due Diligence and Performance Monitoring: Conduct background research on potential business partners prior to contracts being agreed, and monitor the implementation and performance of signed contracts.
- Team Leadership and Record Management: Train, supervise, and support the wider government team while maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and continuously improved contractual records.
- Bid and Tender Support: Provide comprehensive bid and tender support, including reviewing specifications, requirements, and contract terms and conditions to ensure full compliance and delivery against all KPIs. Produce high-quality content for tender submissions, contribute to bid strategy, and draft clear, structured written responses where required.
- Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure all bid submissions meet formatting, quality, and deadline requirements, and lead post-bid reviews to capture lessons learned and drive improvement in future submissions.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a contract management, commercial management, or procurement role.
- Demonstrable experience managing government or public sector contracts, including an understanding of public procurement regulations and frameworks.
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and commercial agreements.
- Track record of managing supplier and stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
