An established professional services organisation is currently seeking a Client Onboarding & Compliance Officer to join its growing Risk & Compliance function. This opportunity would suit an organised and detail-focused individual with previous experience in AML, client onboarding, compliance administration or regulatory support within a professional or regulated environment.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage new client onboarding and matter opening processes in accordance with AML and regulatory requirements.
- Carry out KYC checks, client due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Review onboarding documentation and engagement paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to obtain outstanding compliance documentation and resolve onboarding queries.
- Support file management, archiving, retention and file closure processes in line with regulatory standards.
- Assist with compliance reviews, audit preparation, remediation projects and quality assurance checks.
- Identify and escalate potential compliance or financial crime concerns where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records across compliance systems, workflows and reporting tools.
- Contribute to process improvements and support the ongoing development of compliance procedures and controls.
Experience / skills required:
- Good understanding of KYC, AML, and client due diligence procedures.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable using case management, onboarding or workflow systems.
This role will play an important part in supporting onboarding procedures, compliance operations, quality assurance activities and wider risk management processes across the business.
