Artemis Human Capital is delighted to bring this fantastic new role with one of our key clients, to the market. The opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused finance professional to join a fast-paced and evolving finance team initially on a one year fixed term contract, with a view to permanence. This position offers broad exposure across management reporting, commercial finance, audit, tax and business partnering, making it ideal for someone keen to progress their finance career within a dynamic environment.
Working closely with senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will play an important role in delivering accurate financial insight, supporting operational decision-making and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and supporting reporting packs
- Providing detailed analysis on sales performance, margins and profitability across key brands/business areas
- Partnering with commercial stakeholders to review financial performance and strengthen financial controls
- Monitoring overhead spend, investigating variances against budget and preparing supporting commentary
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assisting with statutory audit preparation and responding to audit queries
- Preparing tax submissions and supporting wider compliance requirements
- Raising and managing purchase orders across the business
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting and finance processes
- Supporting ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from management
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, analytical and eager to develop within a commercially focused finance environment. Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
- IATI qualified with at least 1 years relevant finance experience; or
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline and currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA; or
- A minimum of 3 years experience within a finance function
In addition, candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team
- A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in streamlining processes
