We are working with a highly respected and growing manufacturing business in Cookstown to recruit anAssistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive finance team within a company that has a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and investment in its people.

You’ll work closely with the Financial Accountant and Controller, playing a key role in preparing accurate financial information, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained. This is a great role for someone who wants to develop their accounting skills while contributing to a business that continues to expand both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journals

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and perform key balance sheet reconciliations

  • Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports

  • Process and reconcile purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions

  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and variance analysis

  • Work with internal teams and external auditors to support year-end activities

  • Identify and suggest process improvements within the finance function

Skills & Experience Required

  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant role

  • Proficient in Excel and confident using accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle)

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
