We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected business to recruit a Finance Assistant for their high-performing finance team. With a strong reputation for delivering excellence across multiple entities, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and forward-thinking organisation. This role offers a varied and fast-paced workload within a dynamic finance function, where you will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with wider finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of debt collection, ensuring customer balances are collected within agreed payment terms
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve invoice queries and payment issues
  • Prepare reports for monthly aged debt review meetings
  • Set up and maintain customer account records, including VAT validation checks and payment terms
  • Process cash allocations accurately and maintain remittance records
  • Create and post cashbook and sales journal entries
  • Complete weekly/monthly sales routines and process sales credit notes
  • Assist with management accounts preparation and reporting across multiple entities
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations across sterling and foreign currency accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assist with VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations

Who We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Credit Control, or Finance role
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience working within a busy finance team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience with EFACS or similar ERP systems is desirable, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive and problem-solving approach
  • Motivated with a desire to develop and progress within finance
