We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in the Antrim area to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the finance function, driving financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a significant role in the continued growth of a successful Northern Ireland business.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day finance function while providing high-quality financial insight to support business performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing the finance team
- Overseeing the month-end and year-end close process
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance procedures are maintained
- Managing statutory accounts and audit processes
- Supporting business strategy through financial analysis and reporting
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
- Business partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Supporting the Finance Director on strategic projects and growth initiatives
The Person:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Previous experience operating in a managerial position
- Strong financial reporting and management accounting experience
- Experience leading and developing finance teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
