We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in the Antrim area to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the finance function, driving financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a significant role in the continued growth of a successful Northern Ireland business.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day finance function while providing high-quality financial insight to support business performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing the finance team
  • Overseeing the month-end and year-end close process
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance procedures are maintained
  • Managing statutory accounts and audit processes
  • Supporting business strategy through financial analysis and reporting
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Supporting the Finance Director on strategic projects and growth initiatives

The Person:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Previous experience operating in a managerial position
  • Strong financial reporting and management accounting experience
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
  • A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
