An established infrastructure-focused organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its leadership team. This is a key role within the business, providing strategic financial oversight while supporting operational performance, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding financial decision-making, strengthening financial controls, and partnering with senior stakeholders to support the organisation's long-term objectives.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee a team of 4 and provide leadership across financial reporting, planning, compliance, and commercial analysis. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will work closely with department heads and executive leadership to deliver meaningful financial insights, drive efficiencies, and support organisational growth.
This is a 12mth maternity cover contract.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance function, providing strategic and operational financial leadership.
- Oversee management reporting, statutory accounts, and financial performance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Develop financial models and insights to support business growth and investment decisions.
- Drive profitability, cash flow optimisation, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax obligations, and internal governance requirements.
- Manage relationships with auditors, lenders, and other key external stakeholders.
- Lead finance systems, process improvements, and team development to enhance performance and efficiency.
Candidate Profile:
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience in a senior finance leadership position.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
