A well developed NI business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a high-profile role within the business, offering the opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership while supporting operational performance, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives during a key period. The successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing the organisations financial operations, providing robust financial guidance, enhancing controls, and partnering with senior stakeholders to support the delivery of business objectives.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will lead a small team and take responsibility for financial reporting, planning, compliance, and commercial analysis across the organisation. This position will suit a commercially focused finance professional who combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach. You will collaborate closely with department heads and the wider leadership team to deliver actionable financial insights, drive operational efficiencies, and support informed decision-making. This is a 12-month maternity cover contract with a comprehensive handover period and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, controls, and taxation.
- Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly add value and operate effectively within a dynamic business environment.
- Previous experience working within a contract or interim assignment would be advantageous.
