The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced optometrist to provide high-quality eye care, contact lens care and promotion of eye health in line with General Optical Council (GOC) standards, ensuring the best visual outcomes and overall eye health for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens appointments and other associated appointment types, for example dry eye, as required according to appropriate qualifications and business needs.
  • Practice according to the GOC regulations.
  • Advise patients on visual health, including lifestyle factors and preventative care.
  • Work closely with Dispensing Opticians and other support staff to ensure smooth patient journeys.
  • Make appropriate clear recommendations ensuring there is focus on benefits to the patient.
  • Maintain contemporaneous accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with professional and legal standards.
  • Use and maintain knowledge of specialist diagnostic equipment (OCT, fundus camera, tonometry, visual fields, etc.).
  • Stay up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Support practice growth through excellent patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality assurance processes.
