The Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and patient-focused Dispensing Optician to join our friendly and professional team across our Medway and Tonbridge practices. Applications are welcomed from qualified Dispensing Opticians (pre-registration candidates can be considered). Key Responsibilities
- Professional Dispensing: Carrying out routine and complex dispensing of spectacles
- Measurements: Frame measurements to ensure correct lens centration and fit.
- Frame Styling & Advice: Assisting patients with frame and lens selection.
- Fitting & Adjustments: Adjusting and repairing frames at the time of dispensing or collection to ensure comfort and vision.
- Patient Education: Explaining lens options, educating patients on eyewear care, and handling queries regarding common eye conditions.
- Operational Tasks: Ordering products from laboratories and maintaining accurate patient records and administration. Supporting our opticians in the patient journey and supervising or training assistants within.
Requirements
- Previous experience within an optical practice environment.
- Experience with spectacle dispensing, frame adjustments, and patient consultations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within the optical profession.
