Production Team Member – Casual Contract

Join a friendly and supportive kitchen team this Christmas season! Are you looking for a hands‑on role in a welcoming food production environment? COOK is recruiting Casual Kitchen Prep Assistants to help prepare premium Christmas products, including centrepieces, turkeys, ducks, and geese, for one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year.

Based at Sittingbourne Business Park, COOK Kitchen is located just a 10‑minute walk from Sittingbourne train station, making it easily accessible for those travelling by public transport.

  • Location: Sittingbourne
  • Pay: £14.00 per hour
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 8am–4pm
  • Contract: Casual, approximately 26 June 2026 – 4 December 2026

The role

As a Kitchen Prep Assistant, you will play a vital role in preparing products to the highest standards. Duties include:

  • Carefully cutting, weighing, and measuring ingredients following clear instructions
  • Preparing meat, poultry, and seafood by cutting and processing ready for cooking
  • Preparing Christmas centrepieces, turkeys, ducks, and geese
  • Chopping using kitchen knives safely and confidently
  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishes
  • Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting the wider kitchen team with a variety of preparation tasks

The ideal candidate

  • Comfortable handling and working with raw meat products
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Confident using kitchen knives and food preparation equipment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Previous kitchen, catering, food production, or food manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential
