About the role
Trusted Recruiter is recruiting on behalf of our client, an established specialist in the design and creation of adapted living spaces for people with disabilities and additional needs.
The company works with customers and professionals to create practical, accessible living environments, including adapted bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms and other specialist spaces, helping individuals live more safely and independently.
We are looking for a Project Consultant to cover the South of England, developing new business and managing projects from the initial enquiry and site consultation through to design, quotation and order placement.
This is a consultative, project-led sales position rather than a traditional product sales role.
You will work with customers, specifiers, contractors and other professionals to understand the needs of the individual and the environment before helping to develop an appropriate adapted living solution.
Projects could involve the design and creation of an accessible bathroom or toilet, adaptations to a bedroom, or larger projects incorporating several specialist products and adaptations within the same property or facility.
You will be involved throughout the commercial and design process - visiting sites, discussing requirements, helping develop layouts and specifications, preparing quotations and coordinating internally to ensure projects progress successfully through to installation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across the South of England
- Attend customer properties and other sites to carry out consultations
- Understand the requirements of the user and the environment
- Help develop adapted and accessible living-space solutions
- Support the design and specification of bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms and other adapted areas
- Prepare detailed quotations and layouts for customer approval
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through to order placement
- Develop strong relationships with specifiers, contractors, referral partners and repeat customers
- Identify and develop new key accounts
- Work closely with internal operations and fulfilment teams to support successful installations
- Maintain regular customer communication throughout the project
- Ensure project documentation and customer information is accurately recorded
- Update all sales and project activity within the CRM
- Grow existing accounts while proactively identifying new opportunities
Who are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience within a consultative, specification or project-led sales environment.
Relevant experience could potentially come from
- Disabled adaptations / accessible living
- Adapted bathrooms and washrooms
- Healthcare equipment
- Specialist housing adaptations
- Construction or building products
- Bathrooms, bedrooms or interiors
- Specification sales
- Healthcare installations
- Home adaptations
- Other technical or project-led sales environments
You do not necessarily need to come directly from the disability sector if you can demonstrate the right combination of business development, relationship management and project-based sales experience.
- Key skills
- Strong business development and relationship-building ability
- Confident working with customers and professional stakeholders
- Ability to identify and develop new sales opportunities
- A consultative rather than transactional approach to sales
- Good understanding of project-led sales
- Strong organisation and project coordination skills
- Comfortable preparing quotations and discussing layouts and specifications
- Experience of CRM and Microsoft Office
- Experience of drawing or layout tools would be advantageous
Package
- Basic salary up to £43k depending on experience
- Uncapped commission
- South of England territory
- Field-based position
- Permanent, full-time role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a commercially focused role where the end result has a genuine purpose - helping create safer, more accessible and practical living environments for people with disabilities.
