Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Pay: £19.63 per hour

Shift Premium: Extra £2.80 per hour after 7.00 pm

Saturday Premium: Extra £1.22 per hour

Sunday Premium: Extra £2.27 per hour

Overtime is paid after 45 hours at time and a half

Shift Pattern: (Night Trunk with Sleepout):

  • Monday to Thursday: 6 PM to 7 AM (sleepout from 00:00 to 04:00)
  • Friday: 6 PM to 8 AM (sleepout from 00:00 to 04:00)

Please note that this role involves driving between Maidstone, Slough (SDC), Park Royal (LNW) and London Heathrow (LHR AVI), including a scheduled sleep-out period.

About: GR Employment Ltd is recruiting for a Class 1 Station-Based Driver on behalf of one of our customers based at Maidstone, Panattoni Park area. You will be a frontline representative of the company, responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of secure shipments to and from Service Centres and Hub facilities. The post holder is directly responsible for enhancing the customer experience at every stage through a conscientious and dedicated approach to tasks. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking consistent work with a bit of flexibility built in.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely driving and operating a Class 1 to deliver and collect secure shipments
  • Ensuring the security of shipments and compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • Trunking routes between Maidstone (MSE), Slough (SDC), Park Royal (LNW) and London Heathrow (LHR AVI)
  • Night shifts with a structured schedule, including a planned sleep-out period during each shift
  • Return to base at Maidstone upon completion of the route

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license
  • Valid Class 1 Driving Licence, Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Excellent organisational and route-planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of local and regional routes
  • Minimum 21 years old, no more than 9 penalty points within the last 3 years

Security checks: As this role is based within a major UK airport, all applicants will be required to complete pre-employment screening including a 5-year history check and UK criminal record check.
