The role: Lead the public affairs work to achieve significant change for some of the most vulnerable people in the UK. Affect government policy and the debate in parliament by building relationships with ministers, parliamentarians and across Whitehall, as well as partners and coalitions. Manage two Policy Officers and a Parliamentary Assistant, ensuring work across public affairs and policy is maximised.
The candidate: Successful experience in public affairs with a natural instinct for how to bring about change. A leader who can direct the team, pick up the evidence for the development of policy and influence effectively. Demonstrable experience of building successful relationships across parliament and Whitehall, together with the robustness to engage with senior external decision makers and senior colleagues.
