A well-established and fast-growing environmental and geotechnical consultancy is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join its expanding team in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant looking to take on a technically diverse workload while contributing to high-quality project delivery across the South West.

The Role

The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering and managing geo-environmental projects, supporting a varied client base across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Managing geo-environmental projects from inception through to completion
  • Preparing and reviewing Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Ground Investigation Reports
  • Producing Coal Mining Risk Assessments, Remediation Strategies and Validation Reports
  • Undertaking and contributing to geotechnical assessments
  • Supervising site investigations and ensuring compliance with current health and safety regulations
  • Monitoring ground gas and groundwater levels, including sampling and analysis
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Supporting junior team members and maintaining technical standards across outputs

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified (BSc, BEng or higher) in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrable experience (typically 5 years) within a geo-environmental consultancy environment
  • Strong knowledge of British Standards (e.g. BS EN ISO 14688/5930 equivalents), industry guidance (e.g. Land Contamination Risk Management) and relevant UK regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supervising and reporting on ground investigation works
  • Proven ability in technical report writing, including desk studies and interpretative reports
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices associated with site investigations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Proactive, organised and quality-driven approach to work

  • CSCS Card
  • Site Supervisor qualification (e.g. SSSTS, IOSH or equivalent)
  • First Aid training
  • CAT and Genny training
  • Full UK manual driving licence
