Location: Sittingbourne

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm (3 days in the Office 2 days working from home)

Our Team

We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team to help look after our 1000 plus concession customers and 2,000 plus suppliers. The role combines working in the Accounts Receivable and Payable sections and would suit someone who is keen to continue developing their career within Finance.

The Role

  • Credit Control: Ensure sales invoices & credit notes are processed and sent out in a timely manner. Processing EDI’s. Chasing any debt by calling/emailing customers. Posting all receipts from bank statement daily. Supporting the management of all incoming queries in Zendesk. New customer account set up, including credit checks and DD management. To issue DD advance notices and prepare bank file upload on time. Ensuring all Pro-Forma's paid are released in time for delivery. Customer account management, ensuring all payments are allocated correctly. Support the period end/weekly reporting.
  • Purchase Ledger: Helping with the invoice workflow through our Accounts Payable Automation software (Medius). Support the ‘Love our Suppliers’ initiative to pay every single invoice on time. Helping to manage the supplier portals. Assist with Supplier account payment allocations. Liaise with our Management Accounting Dept to ensure the accurate coding of each invoice. Responding to any supplier or internal queries. Assist with supplier account reconciliation. Helping with New Supplier set up. Support other debts with their invoice approvals and system training.

Good to Have - About You

  • Previous purchase ledger/credit control experience working in a busy modern Finance Dept.
  • Experience of working in a multi deadline driven department.
  • Confidence in managing numerous tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience of re‑prioritising where necessary.
  • Attention to detail and accurate when dealing with large volumes.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Have a good team work ethic and be willing to support the Debt & team mates to achieve their objectives and goals.
  • Confident user of modern software (including AI) to improve workflows.
  • Articulate and a good telephone manner with the ability to speak to customers/suppliers in the appropriate manner.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) to be confident in answering/asking questions when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
